polymorph cleans up unix-style filesystems automatically.
After using Usenet snarfers, I noticed that binaries could end up with all kinds of Windows-cruft in their filenames. I wrote polymorph to fix that. Polymorph changes files with names like C:\\My%20Documents\\pics\\space\\EagleNebula443.JPG to a more unix-friendly format like this:
eaglenebula443.jpg
It works for me. It's in development. Just make sure you use it on a filesystem where you have a current backup! I can fix polymorph, I can't fix your ruined filesystem...
