Notes:

This provides Java support for digital cameras over USB. It's closely affiliated with the original Java USB API, another Free Software project, and works on recent GNU/Linux operating systems.

The first family of cameras is for the PTP protocol, also know as the USB standard for connecting still imaging devices. The first products using this standard have begun to appear; such as the Kodak DC-4800 camera. And Windows ME integrates such support too.

This project is Free Software from the ground up; even though it's written in Java, it's one of the earliest applications to ship with full support the GNU Compiler for Java.
