Notes:
francine is a themeable console login program for Linux. It supports current security standards (PAM), it has enhanced logging facilities, and can be programmed via the S-Lang scripting language.
francine can also be compiled on Solaris(tm) and Tru64(tm) Unix(tm), but we never had the chance to really test it. Maybe, on some day, a port for *BSD will be available, but Linux and *BSD are quite different, so that's not too easy.
If you wonder where the name francine comes from, it is a rather long story. But one developer came up recently with a cool explenation of the project name that should have the description from the start:
FeatureRich ANsi Console logIN Engine
License: GPL
This project has the following developers:
FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
