Notes:

On my quest for non-bloated software, I found that all the web grabbers try to one-up each other with features. So I decided to join that dick size war with a lightweight contestant - fget. fget is a small (13k if you can live without DNS) HTTP or FTP grabber. It just grabs a URL and dumps the result to stdout. That's it. With DNS, it is 26k. Those numbers are statically linked, in case you wonder what's the deal. Oh, and fget supports IPv6. So it does have something in the feature department after all ;-)

Anyway, fget is meant for boot and rescue floppies and embedded systems or lunatics like me who want their tools to use as little space as possible.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
