Notes:

The UK Campaign for Digital Rights or CDR, for short, is dedicated to ensuring that some sane voices are heard in the debate over legislation such as the EUCD and DMCA.

It operates primarily in the UK, but has members (some active) from Europe and the USA as well.

At present, the CDR is concentrating its efforts on:

The European Copyright Directive - The European rough equivalent of the DMCA
Copy protected CDs - As if their profits weren't enough already, now the Record Industries make the public pay to take part in their experiments, unknowingly.
DMCA and Dmitry Sklyarov : the campaign's original raison d'etre.

Volunteers welcome

In particular, looking for commentary on any of the issues from members of the Free Software community, but also people with time to assist in maintaining website, mailing lists, research (technical and legal) or just with good ideas about how to tackle the issues

New Advogato Features

FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
