R6RS is a project to inspire community action and comments about the state of a standarized Scheme. Thus far, the IEEE standard, R4RS, and R5RS, have provided a useful and accessible specification that have been supported by many implementations of Scheme.
In 2000, the IEEE standard was due to expire. Many people have posted to mailing lists and newsgroups about features they would like to see in Scheme. This project was begun as an attempt to provide a similar framework with the added benefit of potentially influencing a new IEEE standard.
This project has the following developers:
New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
