PyGTK is a set of Python bindings for the GTK+ toolkit. It is fairly complete and can be used to do fair size apps.
There is also a set of GNOME bindings that go along with these python bindings: gnome-python.
There are a number of applications that use pygtk. Among them are Anaconda (Red Hat's new graphical install program) and Sketch (at the moment, the development branch is using pygtk).
