<buzzphrase>Software evolution at the speed of syndication.</buzzphrase>
Nooron is a self-improving container for self-improving ideas. Nooron is distributed, server-side, knowledge-based collaboration software. It uses a rating system (equivalent to PICS) based on user contributable subjective criteria in place of the single tacit criterion of 'goodness' that collaborative filtering systems generally use. The resulting hyperdimensional 'subjective space' offers fresh opportunities for navigation, information discovery, filtering and presentation. An integrated versioning technology results in Nooron being an information system which aggressively automates the evolution of its contents. The final twist is that by subjecting its own constituent artifacts (Garments, WorldViews, DepictionStyles, ReviewPanels and many others) to such evolutionary pressure, Nooron becomes a self-improving system. Hence Nooron is a self-improving container for self-improving knowledge. QED.
Anyway, that's the theory. Nooron doesn't do all of that yet. But at the moment it is a RESTful, knowledge-based publishing system which can generate a wide variety of file formats on the fly: html, dot, ps, svg, pdf, dbk, rtf, tex at the moment. A number of Nooron Apps (knowledge-based application frame-works) are already available: pattern_language, project_management, software_project_management, web_log and faq.
