Notes:

The Linux Documentation Project (LDP) is an ongoing effort to provide free documentation about Linux and the free software that runs under it.

It consists of four major project areas:

HOWTOs and FAQs

HOWTO documents are focused on "how to" use a particular package or service under Linux. FAQs are "Frequently Asked/Answered Questions." These are the largest part of the LDP effort.

Guides

These are full-length books are major topics such as "Installation and Getting Started" and "System Administration." There are also programming and kernel programming guides among others.

man Pages

Still the most widely use documentation resource for most UNIX and Linux users (despite the efforts of the FSF to kill it with TexInfo and neglect).

Linux Gazette

The monthly webazine. It contains volunteer submitted articles on many topics (mostly of a practical and "how to" nature) and a few columns including the 2-cent Tips and the Answer Guy.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
