Gale is freeware instant messaging and presence software under development for Unix. It resembles the MIT Zephyr system, Internet Relay Chat, Mirabilis' ICQ, AOL's Instant Messenger, and other systems. It uses its own protocol and sports a robust, distributed architecture.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
