Notes:
The Free Association project is developing a Open Source, standards based calendaring and scheduling system. The project has goals to create a server and a client, but currently it is working on the core library, libical.
Libical is an Open Source implementation of the IETF's iCAL Calendaring and Scheduling protocols. The library parses iTIP components and provides a C API for manipulating the component properties and sub-components. It also has the rudiments of the CAP client/server protocol.
