Notes: Video Conference Flash Plugins

Video Conference Flash Plugins provides Flash/ActionScript 3 plugins that provide the minimum functionality for accessing a webcam and video - live or recorded - from a Flash Media Server such as OSflash Red5, FMS, or tape/rtmpy. The plugins take "FlashVars" parameters to control almost everything. They can be used to create video conferencing Web sites, video chat sites, or YouTube clones.

One thing that is not very common amongst free software developers is the use of the proprietary Adobe Flex Builder. The one thing missing from web browsers - built-in - is webcam audio/video access. Nobody wants to install java just to get access to a webcam; Flash is therefore the most sensible - and most ubiqutous - option. These two plugins provide the minimum level of functionality for audio-visual playback and record to be integrated into sites, by web developers.
