Notes: CaMail is a free modular Webmail system that uses mod_perl and Template Toolkit.

It supports multiple IMAP/SMTP servers across multiple domains, and addressbooks via LDAP. In addition, LDAP is used to store sessions, contacts, groups, mail filters, and user preferences.

Functional features:

Mailboxes management (creation, deletion).
Message management (copy, move, delete).
Advanced manipulation of multipart messages (browsing, parts forwarding, etc.).
Addressbook. Groups.
Multi-language support.
User personalization (signature, messages per page, etc.).
Message filters.
Advanced message search.
Creation of global contacts, groups and filters.

Technical features:

Access messages and mailboxes using the IMAP protocol.
Send messages using the SMTP protocol.
Access messages and mailboxes for multiple domains, along multiple servers.
Access addressbooks using the LDAP protocol.
Storage of user preferences and sessions using LDAP servers.
High performance handling big messages and mailboxes.
Browser compatibility, including text-browsers.
Low browser requirements. Javascript is only used in the addressbook functionality.
