Notes:

AFAPI: Aggregate Function Application Program Interface

This is a portable software package that supports parallel processing in a similar vein as MPI and PVM used in "Beowulf" clusters. Its reason for being is that it uses a unique communications model that is inherently more efficient than message passing for many situations. It can be used on SMP machines, as well as its orginal target of Linux clusters with an attached Aggregate Function Network.
