Some of the guys from the LUG got together today to set up and test a debian box with two connections to the net and one to the local lan.

First time with two real net connections and success.

Momentum in the Free Software world seems to be building here in the Bahamas.

I have noticed a googlebot crawling the bslug.org site a few times lately, but so far, we are not showing in a google search. Does anyone know the time from a crawl to appearance?

Began to try my hand at writing my first xoops module today. Started out with one of the standard ones, moved things to a new directory and made the necessary changes to get it installable and working. Now I need to figure how to modify to do what I want.

I am thinking of modifying some old software that I haven't touched in a few years to make it a module.

I really need to shut down and try and get some decent rest tonight.

Got on offer of help for the zbpos project today. Perhaps this will get me moving on that again. I hope so.

Jason came by last night and we spent a few hours with him starting to see the light on the basics of bookkeeping and accounting. This was so he could better use sql-ledger in his business.

We also spent some time looking for info on how people handle employee pay in sql-ledger as it stands now. Does anyone know why the project people do not archive the mailing lists on sourceforge?

Had lunch with Jasin and Lester yestarday and tried to encourage them to get going with programming some free software. Lester is an old head programmer like me only more so. Jason just wants to get started.

Spoke to Jeremy about putting out some of his work recently, need to follow up on that and to check with Kari again as well.

When I get going this way, there is too much that I want to do and not enough hours. Self control...

Well, I now have an account here at Advogato, I have been meaning to get one for years - ouch.

Now I need to work on getting some friends signed up.

I have recently been named the area maintainer for the Bahamas at the linux counter.

Now I have got to find contacts in our government to see if there are any official "state" codes for the Bahamas.

I am developing what I think is a fairly cool kids game in python. If anyone is willing to help me out on refining it, please let me know.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
