FInished compiling Yoper-rc3, found more little tweaks and after having spent a day with Alan working on client work and getting the default skeleton nice and slick, I am waiting for my last ISO to burn and after some quality control the upload will start. Had 3.500 single visitors on www.yoper.com today and over 1000 votes on distrowatch. At this rate mathematically Yoper would be going #1 end of next week. Well. Woulnd't that be nice. Quite astonishing really. Never thought this to be possible in my wildest dreams.
Now it is up to our marketing department and to the sales force to sell this :) .. hope they will do as good as a job as I have done. Never know with Sales, eh ... hehehe
I don;t think any other OS has translucent mouse pointers. At least I have not seen any.
By Sunday I should be able to announce it. I might wait to Monday though, to catch the Monday workers trying out their new YOS.
I hope I can call this rc3 the last one before releasing the first stable. Wouldn't that be nice?

I might as well start to use this diary properly. After all the hours of work to have had yoper ranked #3 on distrowatch and at the same time the first interview on www.desktoplinux.com is certainly the geek reward that was needed to make my techo soul very happy.

rc3 is currently compiling and I must say that zeus is still quite responsive, even though make -j is going hard out on several systems right now.

A friend just offered me a sparc to try to compile YOS on. I could not refuse and we will certainly see if my buildscripts are layed out well enough. In theory it should just compile.

Posted new screenshots today, which should really give new users a good idea of how good it looks.
