spamming the world into submission

<content type="xhtml">

This morning's cafe-hack has brought forth a right jewel, Guile-GNOME 2.15.98. Since simplifying the base GObject wrapper, things seem to have gone fairly well. So with that bit out of the way, I decided we're ready to go stable, finally. The next release will be 2.16.0, which wraps the GNOME developer's platform at version 2.16: GTK+ 2.10, GLib 2.10, Pango 1.14, etc. More about that in a couple weeks.

Part of this release was to bump the "major version" already, in order to shake out any bugs in that mechanism. I mentioned this to Edward today at lunch, and he said that it makes two major version bumps today. Happy birthday Edward!
