the events of the last week, blurry as they may be, presented as a series of vignettes:

it's snowing. the kick is good. the patriots win.

the spaceghost intro is weird. who's running? you are.

i have a hit song about a knife, and yes: i'm married.

bored.

oh no, not another test.

we meet, we go to wendys. thats it.

it's not snowing. the kick is blocked. that patriots win.

"dude, if the pats win the bowl i'm shaving the goat". -- Ryan "The Only" Johnson.

i go to wpi. it is a weird place sometimes. today illustrates that fact. i will present it to you in three vignettes.

  • 0200: a bunch of frat guys file out the door, wearing their matching jackets, with the frat letters, and their names embroidered on them, etc. i say "wow! same jacket! what are the chances?". they glare at me.
  • 1500: a kid is walking towards me from far away. i think he is carrying a foam sword and shield (ie for a LARP). as he comes closer i realize he is carrying an umbrella and a briefcase.
  • 2200: a kid walks towards the door, picks a chunk of snow up off the ground, and starts hacking at it, in his hand, with a knife. i ask him what he's doing. "i've been doing knives since i was 8," he says. "you _do knives_?" i reply, "wow, that must really hurt".

so, break is winding down. what did i do?

  • slept
  • went to some movies
  • played around with sdl
  • semi-rejuvinated the gnome-freebsd momentum.

this is such a dumb entry.

uh, my grades suck. i saw the ring movie. it was ok. it was three hours long, and these two old guys got into a fight, and gwar was trying to catch the hobbits, and there was this one hobbit that looked like chris farley, and liv tyler was an elf. when she said "we have to get you to my father", i imagined steven tyler as an elf. i started laughing hysterically. the wring wraiths were cool, i want their gloves.

after this class i think i have enough to write a jwz-esque anti-java rant. lets take a look at today annoyance:

int x = atoi (string);

vs.

int x = Integer.decode (string).intValue();

i _hope_ i'm doing it the wrong way.

update, 4 seconds later

just got a great totally random email, here is the body:

where can i download it
can you send it to me
and can you hack wih this
proggie???????????????????????????
I wish you will resonn soon
classic.

done with school. lets see if i pass any classes.

osje is funny.

i have this awful feeling deep in my chest that everything i am doing is wrong.

also, i ate some doritos today.

"Dude! Incubus'll go down as one of the greatest bands of our time!"

damn you ecstacy. you make the people around me say the most depressing things.

saw acephalus, exhumed, zyklon, and morbid angel last night. \m/

hmm, apparently the shockingly high typing to sleep ratio has yeilded a ganglion cyst. on the top of my left wrist. on the list of things i need to have happen to me, i don't remember seeing "getting a ganglion cyst" anywhere near the top 3 million. check out ths link though. their suggestion? "hitting it with a large book to rupture the cyst". classic. i'm thinking of trying that just for pure comic value.

update, 5 mins later

apparently these guys aren't a fan of the large book cure: "It is not a good idea to try to smash the cyst yourself with a heavy object. Even if this home remedy succeeded at first, the cyst would almost always fill up again with fluid. In addition, you could seriously damage your wrist.".

wednesday, 0645, and i am introduced to warring schools of thought on large book cyst removal. this is probably the weirdest start to my day, ever.
