It's been a while since my last post as I keep forgetting to post here and there's really not much going on hacking wise unfortunately. Let's see, since last posting I did the following:

  • Spent a week in London on work bussiness. What a dreadful rainy place it is. Last time I visited weather was better. However weekend visit to Cambridge was pretty cool.

  • Continue to be very busy at work with little time left for hacking.

  • Finally started on the gnome-pilot conduit capplet that combines all individual conduit capplets into one. Was looking good till eskil poked some holes and screamed for feature suggestions. That's really the only major thing left to do till we can go into pre-0.2.0 mode.

Well 0.1.49 is out but has a number of issues. One of the causes is probably that it was 2 months after .48 and has a lot of new/untested stuff. Also memo_file conduit is still causing all sorts of troubles. I almost enclining to rewrite it. Now it is just a matter of finding time ...

Hehe, the new advogato logo is cool.

Did a bit of hacking on pilot_applet this weekend as we prep for 0.1.50 and the feature freeze.

My tiny, little, patch to libglade got finally accepted and commited to CVS after 2 months, YEHA!, except it was modified for style and not aknowledged. Not even email response, that's like, eh, rude or something...

Well things continue to very slow, buzy at work, and get almost no time to work on the fun stuff. :(

Well another work week started and hacking is slow again. When I can I'm currently trying to add full multi-pilot support to applet and do the proper restore dialog.

[NOTE: this is actually Feb 25 enty, but because I edited it is now post dated. I think it's a bug ;)]

Last night and this morning we had a couple of good gnome-pilot hacking sesesions with Eskil. Also discussed in detail our 0.2.0 plan. The much updated TODO is in CVS.

In afternoon deposited Eskil in airport, and quickly went home for more hacking.

Finally succesfully installed the new gnome-core and gnome-applets and I must say that the new panel is sweet. Also switched to sawmill from E and I like it. Don't think I'll ever go back.

First time in 2 years got parking ticket. Damn. I need better glasses to read the parking signs.

Thanks to Eskil's arrival to NYC, I got to skip half day of work. And at night did the obligatory showing of our local pubs. More of the same tomorrow, must sleep now...

Today was home cleaning day. All in honor of Eskil's arrival on Tuesday. My wife was very happy, as it hasn't been clean in a while ;)

Finally got around to do some gnome-pilot coding today. Alan Shutko submited a patch to gnomecard to support REV and I did the address-conduit changes. So now you can edit cards in gnomecard. YEHHA! It was definately quite annoying. Thanks Alan!

It was a long work week. bleh. But came the weekend and did some gnome-pilot warning-hunting. It is 1-0 in our favor, but they are not completely out yet. Also did minor fixes and improvements to the capplet.

Should really start on the big items in TODO.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
