Notes: I've been recently introduced to GNOME and was looking around for a good project to get involved with. When I found gnome-pilot I decided to help out a bit as what can be more interesting than working on the 2 coolest things in town: Gnome and Pilot. I didn't even notice how I became mentioned in *gulp* MAINTAINERS file. There goes the neighborhood...
I've been making some progress on the capplet. Discussed with eskil as to what to do with my unfinished changes. We decided that I should commit them into branch so that he can poke at it while I'm gone on my trip "home". The fact that I needed to commit something spured me onto some active hacking yesterday and I wound up braking a lot of things. So now it is not commitable at all. Let see if I can get it working again before I leave on thursday.
And may pay-work is not exactly cooperating. Have to finish shit-load of stuff before I leave.
Came home in bad mood, but after dinner and 2 beers felt much better and started hacking. Added pixmap support to the conduit list in the new gnome-pilot capplet, and a few other cleanups. Couple more hacking days and it might be ready.
Also compiled evolution. Looks quite nice already. Was amazed that I could actually send and receive mail with it.
It's 2 am and I should be packing and going to bed. Tomorrow have to be up at 8 for a 4-hour drive to a wedding in Maryland. Argh, well maybe I'll just hack a bit more ....
Have been quite busy at work lately, with a brand new system to design in Java. Pretty cool and all. I get to design the whole thing and implement the core and then delegate the other bits to everyone else. But very time consuming.
So this leaves very little time to gnome-pilot. Continued to work on the capplet this weekend, but its going slow, and I'm not sure I quite like where its going. Might need to rethink it a bit. Got the basics of archiving working and did some minor applet updates that I actually committed, cause everything else is just unfinished bits sitting on my hardrive.
