Hey Dan, I hadn't posted to mine in even longer, neener!

Which reminds me, Dan kindly pointed out that due to something or other I did for Mozilla ages ago, I'm in the Acknowledgements portion of Safari. I thought that was kind of neat.

Well, I've been a bit busy and a bit lazy of late. Finals are coming up. Tomorrow in fact. But, I've gotten a bit of work done. First off, on the kernel side I looked at the pmac nvram bit, and figured out that drivers/macintosh/macintosh.? needs to be a shared library (not the right term, I know) and not ar'ed. Otherwise the module_{exit,init} stuff won't work. So right now, nvram and some adb stuff isn't even trying to work in 2.3. I also found out that Paul M's rsync tree has the needed changes. Hopefully Cort Dougan will listen to Paul and the changes will go in. I asked Cort about this before and he preferred the library to stay as is. Wish I knew this was breaking things before, oh well.

Second off, I've got/am getting done one of my finals. 1500-2500 words, dang it.

Lastly, for those of you which have been playing with entropy.crashing.org or using stuff hosted there, myself and the machine will be offline from next wedesnday (may 10) until a bit later (unknown) as I leave the U of A and the dorms.

Today was a busy other things day. But I did get something accomplished at least. I finally got around to submitting my patch for the xmms debs to bring back gnomexmms. The bug report is here and the actual patch is here

Well, I got around to doing a few bits & pieces today anyways. First off, I grabbed all the educational programs off of www.linuxforkids.com which seemed useful for me right now. After talking to Dan J, I'm using dh_make instead of deb-make to get things done. My progress was mostly slowed due to having to "test" the games after .deb'ing them. For a quick and fun addiction go and hit lolit_sl.

I hope to have the .deb's up someplace relativly soon

I also did a wee bit of kernel work and noticed Jeff Garzik's patch for the old-style nvram driver still isn't in there, oh well.

Ok, just a few bits about what I'm trying to do here and there.

First off, I'm going to check out linux kernel 2.3.99pre6-whatever in Cort Dougan's bk tree and see whats still missing from my little set of patches.

Second off, I'm going to go through www.linuxforkids.com and debianize any of the games which currently aren't. Eventually I'd like to do some proper debs but for now deb-make will do. I'd also like to eventually get all of this into Debian/Jr. or whatever.

Lastly, whatever I forgot to put here.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
