Megahal is a great, great, entertainment tool. Take, for example, our (somewhat successful) attempts at teaching Magahal to speak spanish:

<v_thunder> megahal: no se, yo creo que estas loco
<megahal> v_thunder: Que es lo que hablan los borrachos.
<v_thunder> megahal: ah estas borracho?
<megahal> v_thunder: Ah, si te das tragos estas borracho.
<v_thunder> megahal: claro que si, tienes razon
<megahal> v_thunder: Tienes un bar?
<v_thunder> megahal: si, quieres venir?
<megahal> v_thunder: EspaƱol es lo que quieres hacer?

For the spanish-impaired, this goes:

<v_thunder> megahal: I don't know, I think you're crazy
<megahal> v_thunder: What is it that drunk people speak?
<v_thunder> megahal: oh are you drunk?
<megahal> v_thunder: Oh, if you take drinks you get drunk.
<v_thunder> megahal: of course, you are right.
<megahal> v_thunder: Do you have a bar?
<v_thunder> megahal: yes, do you want to come?
<megahal> v_thunder: Spanish is what you want to do?

Needless to say, we spent more time teaching it than we should have been allowed to. But fun it was :)

I hate papers.

Today I woke up extremely early for no good reason. 6:30am. I can't believe it myself! But did I put all this newly gained day-lit time to good use? Of course not. Of all things, I spent hours trying to install w2k on my laptop, only to find out minutes later that the reason I had installed it for was no longer valid. Well. Great.

On the other hand, maybe I shouldn't be bitter.. GTE and Duke finally got their act together and reconnected my ADSL service (after a month and a half of having ADSL down at home).

Plans for tonight: pizza. Mmmm.. pizza :-)

As Pete told me today, "you oughtta post more diary entries. It is easy to forget for one or two days, or a month and a half." This oddly reminds me of this kid who lived down the hall freshman year who said he had "burned in hell for about thirty seconds to an hour."

Yesterday I biked over to Wellspring (supermkt) and got lots of munchies. Great stuff to have here in the computer cluster.. and a lot healthier than what you can get off of the snack machines.

Well, so I finally get around to posting something here :)

Well, I do have lots of news. Today Me and my friend Seth Vidal made the 0.1 release of DULUG-Linux, the first Duke University-specific Linux distro. It's based on Red Hat, with added security packages, and a few customizations (Helix Gnome, customized links, etc). This 0.1 release is not all that different from Red Hat 6.2, but it will soon grow to have its ownflavor, I hope.

Other than that.. well, my grades will suck this semester, since working on Linux is so much more interesting than learning Physics (no offense to the physics majors, really. I just think they're insane ;).
