...BSPs are tested, certified and frozen, ensuring a fully operational tool chain, kernel and board specific modules that are ready to use...

Inoffical acknowledgement of my analysis arrived today.

... will release a fully functional BSP with optimized toolchain soon.

Maybe some day those marketing blokes will understand, that OSS makes it possible to verify "tested, certified and fully operational" and the cleanness of the implementation.

Finaly came around to write some lines here :)

Caused some rumor by my analysis of a commercial BSP. Broken compiler, non working kernel source. Now the marketing blokes are trying to convince me that I'm too stupid to understand their high valued professional product. The fun is not over yet. More laughs guaranteed.

Overhauled the MTD homepage. Have to find some hidden place to preserve the old smorgasbord of ugly formatted html pages.

The generic irq layer documentation is almost done.

Spent an afternoon this week attending a so called "Working Committee". Topic: "Open Source Software in Manufacturing Industry". Haha. A coffee party for cockalorums talking about business and support models without knowing what to sell and support. Started to talk about technical aspects and product specs and got the answer that we should apply for an EU project, because we need some aid money for such a complicated task. Fun, might start in 2008, pours a million Euro down the drain until 2010 and ends with the request for a follow up project, because it turned out that OSS might be a valuable solution for the manufacturing industry.
Nevertheless met a handful serious people there who are interested to move things along on the technical side.
