The wheels of progress continue to roll.
Currently hacking on www.openembedded.org and specifically creating a ppc version of the software. I'm hoping I can obtain an artic ii ppc pda board that has been demoed at linuxworld from time to time. Ideally I'd love to run oe on that. But we'll see how it goes...
Posted the initial ppc toolchain oe files yesterday. In user space I have zlib, ipkg, glibc 2.3.2 building. Hope to move onto busybox and the kernel by Monday.
Happy New Year!
Again yet another ice age has passed so time for another entry. linuxppc64.org continues to go well. While 2.4.13 is the currently kernel version we are on, we're more frozen for the second so we can maximize our help for SuSE and their efforts.
Lots to do, lots to do ... I'll write about it tomorrow. Now time to get back to getting the TotalImpact briQ running 2.4.
Been a loooooong time since I've had a diary entry. I've graduated to working on ppc64 these days. See linuxppc64.org. The goal for the day is get things updated to 2.4.7 and better yet, get that patch into Linus and Alan.
My BK 2.4 tree is sane again and I intend on keeping that way with a new dev and stable versions. I will only push up to the stable version when things *WORK*.
I got Power3 working again on the latest version of the 2.4.0-test5 kernel .. woo hoo! Nice to move forward off 2.3.99-pre9 ... got alot of miles off that.
Now which box should I bring up next? ... the big black one or that tiny little grey one ... hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Gotta tooth yanked today ... happy happy joy joy
My journey as a kernel hacker wanna-be continues. I now maintain the IBM bit keeper repository for IBM PowerPC hardware. Take a gander at my brand spankin' new web page at http://www.fsmlabs.com/~tgall
I just recently got the Power3 44P Model 170 running Linux. This was to the 2.3.99-pre9 kernel. Well this week I resolve to get us up to the 2.4.0-test5 kernel.....
FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
