Wow, long time, no activity.

Well, in summary, I've moved house (1.5 weeks), spent a week in Hong Kong and then had an emergency appendectomy. What fun! Hopefully in a week or so I'll have recovered from the operation and have some time to actually do something.

Nothing much going on with gpgp - waiting for Sourceforge to install the CVS tree.

Worked from 8:30am until 10:15pm yesterday; what fun.

Sourceforge account approved. Better get it set up.

Nuked a couple more bugs; getting a good list of features to add. It's useful now, it doesn't crash at the drop of a hat and I've even used it :)

Accidentally deleted my GPG key directory (rm -rf .gnupg) when I thought I was in a different directory. Lucky I do dumps...

Off to sign my life away on a mortgage this afternoon :(

Nothing much today; a couple of bugs fixed in gpgp. Thinking about how to do the passphrase stuff in a secure fashion - it's hard :(

Got pointed at Seahorse. Hmmm. Less buggy than gpgp.

However, I will persist with gpgp because:

  • I think the GUI can be nicer.
  • It aims to provide a library interface as well as a GUI.

Looks like development is going to be a bit slower today - our hot water system seems to have died rather a lot; lots of water on the floor, all of it cold :( Just what we need 2.5 weeks before we move.

3 hours later: It's all fixed. Amazing! Hot water.

Back to hacking & packing.

Well in the rest of the day I've packed up most of my office, and got the latest version of the code base from the (nominal) maintainer. Merged in my fixes, which close all but 2 of the outstanding bugs on bugs.gnome.org.

Waiting for sourceforge to approve the project so I can set up public CVS & do an interim release.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
