lj does have XML-RPC interface. It doesn't have a direct link from the
home page. I think someday someone will, finally, get irritated and fix
that but doubtful. But the post interface is easier than the XML-RPC.
Advogato's interface is nice and simple. But lj does have more features.

FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
