Greetings! it's been a while. although i've been spending
my time productively, i've not been using it to work on
primarily open source projects.

lately, though, i have been getting heavily involved in
anti-spamming and postmastering (is there such a word
as "postmastering"? if not, i've just made it...heh!). this
means i've been involved in the race between those finding
holes in email delivery and detection of those intrusions.
so, i may just spend some time creating my own DNSbl and
seeing where that takes me.

Hello, again. I'm now trying to see which project(s) to
take on. I have a bit of time on my hands, and I clearly
need to brush up on some of my skills. Guess i'll wander
on over to the SourceForge and similar resources to see
what needs doing.

Ideally, i'd like to brush up on my Perl, Java, JSPs,
Beans, servlets, and various compilers/tools. Oh, yeah, i
surely need to brush up on my SQL; i'm really rusty these
days.

I do have some friends who are interested in putting up a
particular kind of site (sorry, this is a family show--i
can't mention the name). that seems like a perfect
opportunity to blend all this (or as much as i want).

so, i sense a Linux box with Apache, Beans, mySQL, and a
few other odds and ends thrown in for fun. should be a
great workout.

i'll keep you posted as i work out some of the details on
the project.

wow...haven't been here in quite some time. it's been a
maelstrom of activity in my life. i've blown through two
jobs in less than 6 months, built up 2 servers at home,
housed a G4 that came and went, received a big 19"x8' all
black rack for free, and in general been amazingly busy.

i'm back with a meaningful webpage and time on my hand, so
i'll link forward and back.

see my goings on by visiting
NamShub, my homepage.
peace!

geeky week.

rebuilding qmail (again) to take into account the
wonderful "issues" left there by DJB. qmail is great as a
delivery-to-remote agent, but it absolutely sux rox as an
inbound email handler. sendmail still seems to win that
one hands down.

twiddling with an internal apache module...fun, fun, fun.
at least, apache "does the right thing" from a programmer's
perspective.

working on getting my DSL line and servers all set up so
that i can start posting some of my "open source"/freeware
to the world (without getting my server ripped to pieces by
the script kiddies [bless their little fingers :-) ] ).

then i have to work with the silly provider to get my
reverse DNS settled out...more fun.

i'd rather be writing code and designing systems.
