Big surprise for me today. The company I work for didn't get the 2nd round funding :(. So I'm looking for a job again.

My updated resume will soon be on my homepage. Meanwhile if you are looking for a sharp developer <modesty- off> who can do pretty much anything possible with C++ and Python, look no further :) </modesty-off> Keywords: C++, Python, OO, Java, app servers, developing frameworks, dbms, ldap, xpcom, mozilla, zope...

Today is my 6th day in the US! Landed in Denver this Monday, though 3 hours later than expected. Nice place! Am now looking for a place to stay - either an apartment, or a place that needs a roommate or something. Let's see...

Long time no updates! Well here's what has happened.

I've left my job and moved back to where my home is - New Delhi.

Also, I have a US visa and a new job in Colorado! Will be flying there soon... :-)

Yesterday was Holi! We (there were ten of us) went to the Boat Club here. The dance floor was in the open with bamboo shoots hoisted above the area. Water drizzling through the holes made in the shoots created (coloured) rain all over. Rain dance is fun! Of course there was plenty of food and drink too :-)

Here is the story behind the festival.

The colour hasn't come off my nails yet - they're deep pink.

My post at the XPCOM newsgroup has grown quite a thread! Cool, those ideas might actually get somewhere :-)

I cleaned up and added comments to an macro extension I had created for MoinMoin (a wiki system in python), and I've put it up at the MacroMarket for MoinMoin.

My macro (called EventsList) generates a list of events for a given date. You can put the list of all events in plain text in a wiki page and it will parse and extract the event info.

Leads me to think... just simple text parsing macros used with MoinMoin could be used to build some pretty decent yet simple to use web based collaboration systems.

Jon Smirl has been so nice and given me lots of code in his reply to my query on netscape.public.mozilla.xpcom about integrating Apache with XPCOM. Thanks man!

Another Saturday has just passed by with me spending most of the time in office for not finding anthying better to do. sigh.

I attempted and realized that it's not easily possible to convert my web-based winamp controller to apache cgi. The reason I guess is that apache is running as a service on my machine and it cannot use the windows messaging api to interact with other 'visible' windows. I think here's where that setting of 'let service interact with desktop' might be useful. Anyways, I'm not interested in going through all that now.

Had gone to a place called Matheran this weekend, with a large group of people from the company. We stayed overnight at this place which is probably higher than here but the weather seemed to be the same. I had expected cooler. Matheran is a monkey hazard place, very bold creatures who come up to you and grab anything edible. Still we had a great time, next to only the monkeys, perhaps.

Snaps will be online soon. I'm only through with 21 of around 36 snaps in my camera.

I suppose I'm partying more than I should (well some people tell me there's no such thing). After the Matheran, on Monday I landed up at a stag party at a friends place.

I've setup MoinMoin (a python wiki) on my machine and learnt about apache's rewrite rules. Apache's rewrite rules are really too cool. Also, downloaded, installed and currently using Leech FTP - a free wimp ftp client for Windows. It's cool with a lot of features and I'm happy.

Created a sidebar macro for MoinMoin. Me thinks a calendar macro would be cool, though.

Nothing much otherwise. I'm thinking of converting my web- based winamp controller to work as a cgi. Currently it works only with medusa.
