So, took a day to relax and wandered around london.... went to Cockfosters to see if jdub's obsession meant anything. It doesn't, well unless Cockfosters Parade means something to you.

Then went and saw Shaun of the Dead, which I suspect won't reach Sydney :[. A shame, as it was a real laugh :}.

I've been in London for a week now... quite a nice place.

Pity I'm only here on business, have to go home Monday :[...

So I started a new job 1st March, and it rocks. But I had to spend two weeks back with my old company finishing projects off.... really just want to be fully focused on the new role...

Another week, and I'm there.

So, I spend a month and a half in anticipation, and have finally started... Wow!

Now I just need to get this mountain of TODO's triaged and in progress.

SLUG had a talk tonight on the AC3 computing cluster presented by Duraid Madina. Very cool stuff - 152 dual processor 1RU rack servers...

Oh, and I finally got around to sitting down with Bruce Badger and doing the Smalltalk <-> tla hack we'd bounced around conceptually. Easy as pie ;).

Things are looking good at the moment. About to roll out a 40 site VPN on 2.4 kernels with the 2.6 ipsec code - trial by fire. And my new position is coming along nicely.

WOW, just saw the coolest thing. Tridge did a talk on junkcode, and demo'd live restarting of his 'lasker' chess server - written in C - without bringing down all the tcp sessions and the like.

Again, WOW.

hypatia: Documentation is an art - much like coding. It's hard... but one of the most important things that can be done for a project. Good technical writers are rare, precious things - more power to you if you become one.

On the GNU Arch front, my gpg signing code is now in the mainline, along with enhancements from Tom - grab tla 1.2 if you want it. We support signed changesets, re-signed mirrors, and mirrors that copy the source signatures. AFAIK only monotone has anything equivalent, (although bitkeeper has apparently good integrity mechanisms - it's not signed-by-the-author changesets).

Well, been a while. W-a-a-a-y to busy with work and stuff. Had a fun time today, implementing gpg signing support for GNU Arch. This should help verification for arch using source repositories, if the host they are on gets compromised.
