Join me in suing the NSA over illegal spying, says Rand Paul

As reports go main stream about the NSA spying on millions of Americans through massive phone and email surveillance programs, it seems like nothing is being done to stop this massive breach of privacy. As massive surveillance powers hover over Americans and people all...

I just signed this, you should too - #nsa #fisa #tcot #tgdn #prism #rights #privacy #snowden #surveillance

Hi-

While there is much we still do not know about the NSA's spying programs, it is clear that they rely on the active participation of private companies to find and collect massive amounts of detailed private information about citizens who have not been suspected of any wrongdoing.

I just signed a petition to make sure that companies know their customers want them to help protect the Constitution, especially if our government won't. You can see what companies can legally do to protect their users and the general public, and sign the petition telling them to do so, at the link below.

NSA Spying

Hi friends,

The revelations about the National Security Agency's surveillance apparatus, if true, are a stunning abuse of our basic rights to freedom and privacy.

A coalition has formed to demand that the U.S. Congress reveal the full extent of the NSA's domestic spying programs. I'm joining the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Mozilla, Free Press, Fight for the Future, Access and many more consumer activists group as part of that coalition, and I'd love for you to join me too:

'Digital Blackwater': NSA Leak Highlights Key Role of Private Contr actors

via (title unknown) by jacob on 6/11/13

Like the mercenaries for hire used by the U.S. in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and New Orleans—contractors like Blackwater that have come under scrutiny for their extreme lack of oversight—the U.S. government has been outsourcing intelligence services to private companies who have access to the general population's most sensitive information.

Stop the NSA from gathering data via social media web site servers

Hi,

On or about June 5th, 2013 national press releases stated the NSA was granted by nine of the largest tech firms on the internet to gather data from their servers.  This is violation of all American's personal freedom and must stop.

That's why I signed a petition to The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama, which says:

"Stop the invasion of personal privacy by the National Security Agency using internet social media web site servers.  Regulate what data may be gathered by the NSA and how it may be gathered."

Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!

CONFIRMED- they're spying on you right now

Friends: Please see this urgent email I just received from Demand Progress.

The revelations of spying on telephone customers are extraordinary --
but it gets even worse. The government is spying, in real time, on
rank-and-file Internet users. From the Guardian:

The National Security Agency has obtained direct access to the systems
of Google, Facebook, Apple and other US internet giants, according to
a top secret document obtained by the Guardian.

The NSA access is part of a previously undisclosed program called
PRISM, which allows officials to collect material including search
history, the content of emails, file transfers and live chats, the
document says.

CLick here to call for investigation of this massive surveillance
overreach: http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/nsa_internet/?referring_akid=.45919.DIgdOG&source=taf

Let's put it plainly: It has been conclusively demonstrated that the
government is spying on millions of Americans, without meaningful
oversight, and without the assent of the very people -- all of us --
whom our government is supposed to represent.

Click here to call for an investigation and hold the federal
government accountable:
http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/nsa_internet/?referring_akid=.45919.DIgdOG...

The top secret document obtained by the Guardian also lists Microsoft,
Yahoo, YouTube, Skype, and AOL as providers of user data to the NSA's
PRISM program.

Those who have defended the government's enhanced cyber serveillance
powers in the past argued that the NSA would have to get the consent
of internet companies to obtain electronic communications -- but PRISM
totally circumvents that, by giving the NSA direct access to the
companies' servers!

Click here to condemn this enormous violation of our rights and demand
an investigation:
http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/nsa_internet/?referring_akid=.45919.DIgdOG...

All this effectively means anything we do on the internet can be (and
has been) monitored by the federal government.

We must not lie down as the NSA and the federal government eviscerate
our privacy rights, invading and surveilling our every move.

Click here to join the fight:

Thanks

This is shocking

Dear friend,

A leaked court document obtained by The Guardian, and since reported on by numerous news outlets, has exposed the government spying on Americans.

Using the Patriot Act, the U.S. government has been secretly tracking the calls of every Verizon Business Network Services customer – whom they talked to, from where, and for how long – for the past 41 days.

It's time to get angry. Be part of a strong public outcry against this program by signing the petition immediately and letting your friends know what's happening in this country.
