Well, it's been about 18 months, so it's time for an update.

I've spent the past 6 months working on a web interface to some unreleasable software and it's coming close to a release. Feedback has been positive, which is really heartening, but then shit happens and I really don't understand it. My boss' boss just reviewed it and made a few comments about the general UI which just absolutely infuritate me ... because they're all legitmate, reasonable suggestions. I'm just pissed off that I didn't think of them earlier.

On an up note, I've been really happy to be streaming my mp3 collection from home for the past couple of weeks. Who'd'a thought broadband could be so useful?

Well, I'm up quite late again as I'm working to (start and) finish a paper on Josef Stalin. I would have been quite a bit farther along had I not diverted large amounts of my attention to a) getting esound to compile on a Solaris box (I eventually gave up when the list of dependencies grew too large. It just isn't that important.) and b) getting ntpd running on my Debain box so that I'm not three or four hours off from the rest of campus. ;)
