Hmm okay, this update will have to cover a few weeks,
but at least I seem to have broken my current record
leaving it for nine months before posting :)
I've now graduated University with a 2.1 which I
really pleased with, although there has been a death in the
family recently which is which is a downcast because I
would have liked for them to have known my result.
The last two weeks have been spent travelling
first up to Burnley for a funeral and strangely the day we
left the second in a series of riots sweeping the UK
started in Burnley. On a happier note I then left for the
UKUUG Linux Developers Conference in Manchester, where I
proceeded to drink far too much and meet loads of new
people. Julian and Dan were just
two of them and I met up with both of them again at the
LinuxExpo in London.
The LinuExpo was in the middle of a week that I
The first day I met up with Julian and a group of us
decided to follow the Lonix guys to the strangest pub (if
you could call it that) I ever been to, it was called the
Auberge if I remember correctly and would only serve half
pints or 2 pint jugs and to top it off they only seemed to
have Stella which seems not to agree with me. We quickly
left after having destroyed a candle, I seem to have a
group of friends that have a wax fetish.
The second day started with good intentions
planned to get to the show early but instead we ended up in
the Hand and Flower at 2 before getting to the show about
3. Although I did manage to meet Dan in the Hand and Flower
at some point and he ended up going for a meal with us and
crashing at Dave's as well.
If you actually want to know about the expo, well
was some fun when Suse got locked out of their stand and
there were more Windows boxes than Linux boxes. I got a
free calculator from Suse and a football from IBM but no
free T-shirts this year.
