I am the designer and developer of the Unix interface procedures to the Icon programming language (http://www.drones.com/unicon/). The extensions have been folded into the "next generation" of Icon called Unicon.
Icon is in the public domain.
I also wrote and maintain plotfoil (http://www.drones.com/rec.models.rc/), a free (GPL'ed) airfoil section plotting and generating application. I have been using Linux since 0.99 PL12 (1993) and Unix in various forms since 1982.
I have written about Icon in the Linux Journal. Clint Jeffery and I are working on a book on Unicon which is almost done; look at the Unicon project page if you want to see the pre-publication draft.
These days I also dabble in Plan9 and OpenBSD.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
