Well, with 2002 I actually managed to surpass 2001 in terms of things I wanted to do but never got done. I can't really think of any reason to expect that 2003 will be a better year but I can always hope. Point one on the new year's resolutions list is to keep a blog going to try and keep my momentum up. If it's June and this is one of the last entries then the prospects look bad.

Had a look at the newdocms project today. It's nice to see a project trying to implement a new and revolutionary idea. Well, like all new and revolutionary ideas its just an amalgamation of some existing good ideas but it's excellent nonetheless. For those interested, the last such project I came across was gpf (no homepage, just a directory in the GNOME CVS repository) and that was well over a year ago.

The concept behind newdocms is very similar to some ideas I've been trying to formulate recently concerning a programming paradigm based around fuzzy sets. Work on it is on hold at the moment waiting for a book I ordered on fuzzy set theory. It's one of those ideas where I have a feeling that much it has already been explored before, it's only the application which is new. I'd like to read up a lot more on the subject to be sure I'm not doing too much wheel reinventing. I've been waiting for a month now. Hmmm.
