AOTC

Finally, after waiting for so many years. I think the waiting part was the real exciting part, though.

Syllogism Model

It seems that I'll probably run out of thinking steam soon. Kind of tough trying to make an instruction set that can extend itself in terms of intructions. This probably how the brain works, though. Extending itself by means of connection and disconnection of bits of information. Also difficult is efficiently storing predicates that are related to other predicates. I need more time to figure this out.Maybe setup some type of layered structure, defining each and every level according to its function.

Most interesting is how to put all these ideas into the Critter Processor, adding the ability to extend itself by means of predicated instructions.

Syllogism Model (SM)

After playing with the initial code, it looks like the Von Neuman Model (VNM) of data and code will probably not work in what I'm trying to implement. The Model is more like 'data is code, code is data' in addition to VNM. So, it might probably be good to use both, VNM below and SM at the top.

SM is a lot more exciting than VNM, though, simply because of its ability of creating data+code+storage at the same time. Not sure if I'm making sense since everything is fuzzy at the moment.

VB Writeup

Found an interesting link about VB.
Syllogism Instruction Set

Spent some time experimenting on creating an instruction set, a different kind of instruction set dealing with syllogism structures. It is very ambiguous at the moment, containing a lot of confusing and dangling ideas. But it looks like it may have some use when it gets to a semi- working state, though.

Novo Millennio Ineunte

Stumbled into an interesting apostolic letter. A new hope, indeed. Amen.

Syllogism

Attempted to create a simple logical structure using the syntax defined. It seems that it is possible to construct a tree of independent and interdependent nodes, forming a 'logical sense.' Don't exactly know how this would come out, definitely need more time to think it through, though. Hmm, from what I wrote, I don't know if that really makes sense. Sometimes, one has to use ambiguous words to describe new things. Well, that's just only me.

GP

Spent some time collecting info about GP. It seems that more information is needed to complete this large unknown, though. Hoping to find some useful data structures and algorithms.

DX8.1 Wizard

Just got a stable version of it, except for minor adjustment like setting the precompile headers to no. Next step is add classes on top of this new API. Probably start writing utilities for writing out mesh, material and other things into .x file format. That may be a good start.

Syllogism

Also spent some time collecting info on how the syntax can be translated into a yacc grammar. [1]

Plant Nursery

Just got the last batch done. Some of them, probably most, are sprouting up like little green two-leafed bud. We decided starting the next batch and move ahead in preparing them. Just can't wait to fill all spaces here with all kinds of plants, though.
Video Cards

Spent some time looking for a video card decent enough to have vertex and pixel shading. The cheapest one I found was a Ti200 costing about 199 bucks. The highest was priced at 399 bucks. After several minutes looking at the prices of the low-end machines costing around 600 bucks, it was somehow good not to buy now and just wait for a couple of months. The Quadro 4 card wasn't there yet, maybe it'll be released sometime later.

Of IDEs and Wizards

Just got an interesting comment about IDEs and wizards. A wizard is actually useful if the user knows what it is emitting, though some developers aren't aware of this rule, the gains provided in using them are somehow equalized by the losses of being unfamiliar with the framework the wizard implicitly dictates. There is a hidden learning curve waiting for any developer wanting to use wizards though.

IDEs are definitely considered a productivity tool, no doubt about it. A lot can be done and covered by having an environment that provides for the tools necessary to get the job done. I for one agree to the idea that developers should pick their own and use it like a personal tool, customizing it to level where productivity reaches the highest point. Also, IDEs were created for certain or specific language, having its own unique look and feel designed. It brings up the idea of multiple IDEs a developer must have in its toolbox, though.

C++

Spent some time playing with C++ grammar, adding a few code here and there, figuring out how these symbols can be collected in one central place.

One of the things I found during the course of this spelunking activity, it seems that some c++ contructs are rather, IMO, poorly done. The idea of passing types as parameters is definitely a good idea, but the implementation seems to be a bit awkward, though. Or it could be the other way around, the design was a bit awkward in the first place.

I think this attempt to introduce generic programming using the syntax implemented seems to have only made it more confusing.

Anyway, these are just my views worth two cents.

Crystal Space

Made some progress in coding the app wizard. Next step is figure out which IDE should it target.

DX8

Worked on coding the GC for the app designed to alloc() and dealloc() D3D resources. Not yet completed, though, since there are tons of interfaces and members I need to figure out.

App Wizard

Finally upgraded the App Wizard. Aside from the standard, it now has helper classes for mesh, font, wave-file, etc. But the thing is the code emitted by the wizard doesn't compile yet. Guess that's another number in the to-do list, though.

VC6 DX8 App Wizard

Just made a simple DX8 app wizard deriving from CD3DApplication[1, 2] class. Will work on an addin that will place polygons like spheres and cubes in the code. This could be a tough one.

Spent some time figuring out if it as also possible to make an app wizard for Crystal Space. Will figure this out later.

C++ YACC Grammar

Also got a copy of the C++ grammar from this site . Will add code to it and see what else it can do for symbol tracking. Definitely need a tool that keeps track of symbols so I can reference them even if it is hidden down there at the base. It's hard trying to remember all these members attached to a hierarchy of classes, making C++ definitely hard to master, though.

Quadro 4

Currently looking at an info spec [3] for a high-end video card. I might be needing it just in case.

The Poem

Just got this poem from somebody saying it has a very moving message for the suicide bombers. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is definitely escalating as more and more people are getting involved.
The Martyrs - By Ghazi Al Gosaibi

God witnesses that you are martyrs The prophet's witness, and all saints You died so that my God's Word is honoured In lands honoured by the Isra' You committed suicide? It's we who have done so In a life . . . in which the living are the dead.

O my people we have died, So let's listen to what elegies say about us. We have become powerless Until powerlessness itself complained of us. We have cried until crying despised us. We have bowed until bowing itself was sick of us We have sought hope, until hope cried for help. We have pleaded with the idols of a White House Whose heart is full of darkness. We kissed Sharon's shoe until The shoe cried, "Enough! You have ripped me apart". O people, we have died But earth was too proud to embrace us.

Say to Ayat: O bride of spears May all beauty be a sacrifice for your eyes! When the heroes, the best of my people, are castrated, It is the beautiful one who challenges the criminal. She kisses death, laughing happily, While from death the leaders flee. Paradise opened its doors, saluted you And Fatima al Zahra' received you. Say to those who write up the fatwas, wait! There are fatwas which leave heavens aghast. When the Jihad calls, the ink goes silent, And the pen and books and scholars. When Jihad calls, there is no asking for fatwas Blood is the only fatwa on the day of Jihad.
