Work has actually been good for this week. I'm working on a php authentication system so that we can handle authentication of modules and pages (or about anything else) on our sites. I'm currently working on a little setup script for it, so that it's easy to setup a system that uses it. The setup script uses perl. Hopefully, I'll be able to release this open source, though. I'm hoping to be able to make some other code releases open source from our various projects here at work. More to come on that soon, probably.

In other news, I've also been working on my site quite a bit, and it's near release. The initial release won't have too much on it, but hopefully more will come very shortly.

And I'm having a tough time dealing with Adair being all the way over in Asia. Hopefully the time will start to pass more quickly...but so far it hasn't. I guess we'll see how that goes, too. I'm really ready for her to be back. Oh well, I guess only 5 more weeks to go.

Things are still crazy here. I've been working on web servers here at work, and really don't get any great free time to spend doing things that I want to do. Hopefully that will change soon, though. That's about all I can hope for. The site that our company is working on, though, is coming along very nicely. We're hoping to have it released by the end of June. Other than that, nothing much has been happening for me. Oh...but one good thing at least will come out of this summer. My Linux server admin skills are increasing rapidly, as that's been most of what I've done. :)

Life has been hectic since I've been here working. It's amazing how much time 8 hours of the day is. I haven't really touched any of my projects. But, I am working on my personal site right now, and hopefully I'll get to the cod site here sometime soon also. All in all, though, I'm enjoying the summer and am trying hard to free up the time to work on clugbot and the cod site.

Well, I finally got the word from Judson, and he's going to give me an account on the clug server, so hopefully I can begin development on COD this evening. I think that'll be a good thing.

I don't think that I will get everything done nearly as quickly as far as the COD site is concerned, though, simply because I've had a serious case of laziness come over me. I've wanted to sleep a lot lately, so I may just do that here for the next few days after work, rather than programming. And, I want to finish reading The Greatest Generation.

I think I only have to say three things about today. Exams are finished.

Today was a fairly dull day. I really despise exams. I had to get on the ball and work on studying Chinese today, but all of that will be done tomorrow, and I can relax for a couple of days.

The few things that happened other than studying were negative. The first bad thing that happened was that I went to Taco Bell for lunch. I wouldn't normally have done so, but Adair and I were craving something a little different, and I thought Taco Bell would be a nice quick something different. Boy was I wrong. We ordered our food, and they pretty much destroyed Adair's nachos. How do you destroy nachos? Adair was really ticked, as was I, so we left. On our way home, (Adair drove her car), Adair's car started to overheat. So we had to pull it over and let it cool off. A little further down the road we gave up and just left it for a bit. We're gonna move it to a better spot here after we're done studying for the night.

Needless to say, I wasn't able to get any real work done (i.e. work that I wanted to do) today. I was, able, though, to get more design done on the cod site before I went to bed last night. I got Dan (who's the man, I might add) to put together a funny little graphic of a fish for the site. Much thanks goes out to Dan for that. Hopefully next week(ish) I'll be able to finish the cod site and people from Clemson will have a nice place to post free software projects.

And I guess that's about all I have to say about today...

Well, today I was able to put the current source of Clugbot into CVS over at Sourceforge. It was kind of interesting, because it was my first time to create a project there...but overall I was very impressed with how easy it was to get an account and a project set up. I'm definitely glad that it's around.

Also, today, I began work on the site design for cod. Cod is the Clemson Open Developers, a group of students (and maybe someday faculty too) here at Clemson that work on free software. I'm currently just creating a simple site so that people can post their projects and news about their projects to the site. It will also have information about free software and what it's all about for any who are interested. I think I may try and get Dan to cook up some fish looking image for me for the site.

Also, I had lunch with Chris today, and it was nice to be able to chill out and just talk about some CLUG stuff and other stuff in life. He's definitely a very interesting guy...I'd recommend meeting him if you have the chance. He's all about becoming a better programmer and working on free software projects.

Oh, and I found out that I could exempt my 215 exam today. Very, very good. That gives more time to concentrate on Chinese.
