Ok, so selinux is a tad complex. No worries, I'll get it.
Gentoo is quite nice, but building from stage one takes a while.
And then I'll want to do it all again to harden it properly. I'm having fun! Wheeeee!

Weird shit going on.
Gotta wait a bit and see what will happen.
As they say (curse you actually): may you live in interesting times.
Right. Just remember to duck in time.

Me

Woke up this morning, though I wasn't planning on doing so. Not much to do today. House is clean, pretty much. Kitchen is squeaky clean. Did some reading, which is a pretty decent waste of time. Food was fast: nuked leftovers.

Others

Best wishes to badvogato, the sole reason I'm rated master.
I still miss badvogato.org. Segfault is bored too *mmrruaaggh bluh!*.

Work

Nope, not till next week.
Wonder what piles of nastiness will be heaped upon us this year. Last years load certainly managed to keep us fully occupied.

Book

Das Schloss (Kafka). Still doesn't make sense, but that's the idea of the book anyway, so that makes sense.

News

The usual bombings and massacres. On a bright note: even as late as today some survivors were still found in the ruins of Bam. And of course no opportunity is missed to
raise the flag. Pretty insensitive imho, but probably nobody had even thought that the locals might have some feelings concerning their presence and visibility thereof. However sactions agains Iran have been suspended for 90 days, which is a good thing. Hmmm, I should transfer some funds myself...

Whatever

Hey, I found a cd that was not listed yet in freedb. Wheee! Whatever.
Converting my cd's to ogg, about 75% done now. Connected my computer to the hifiset and found out how to get all 4 speakers to make the appropriate noises. Gamix is a seriously evil, ugly app.

Quote

Objective reality is a synthetic construct, dealing with a hypothetical universalization of a multitude of subjective realties (P.K.Dick)

Reading:
Cities in Flight: all in all a very good read, but a weak end
Babel-17: wonderfully weird and exiting
Empire Star: absolutely brilliant, lovely philosophical and creative
todo: Das Schloss - Franz Kafka (30% to go); Inversions - Ian Banks; Handbook of Applied Cryptography - Menezes, van Oorschot, Vanstone (chapters 2 and 3 for now); various security related readme's and howto's

House:
Cleaned the bathroom. I've actually got to see white tiles again

Work:
Yeah, right. Not until next year.

Truth! Ha! There is only one truth and you've just read it.

Reading: Cities in Flight - James Blish
Pretty good so far.
