Just found Linux Magazine in the mail. Now I have to figure out when I'm going to read it
Met some old friends Monday-evening I hadn't seen for a while. Weird shit, talked for a while with one of them, then with another, and yet another etc. Couple of hours later I've spoken three people, one guy two girls, all hit with RSI, badly. Hit hard and quick. One of the girls managed to screw up both her arms within two weeks. Scary stuff, I mean I know these guys, and all of a sudden, bang! Three of them. Not able to work (or do much else for that matter) for months, maybe up to a year. And they're probably not the last I'll here of. I think this is going to hit a lot of people. Brr, do I still want to work 8 hours a day on a keyboard (and tinker several hours at home each night)? Psychological stress seems to be an influence, so I'll better try to get happy fast and stay that way (man, what a depressing thought ;-) ).
Ok, tonight is party time again, two nights down, two to go. I hope I'll last....
Yesterday was pretty damn good.
Just a couple of hours....weekend. Heading up north this
weekend. Visit the family.
Gonna spend eight hours on
trains, so I got me some reading material. Printed out a
php-manual, 4 pages per printed page and then double-
sided.
Guess it's official now. Code is more of a threat to NY society than guns. It's ok to make guns, sell/buy guns, own guns. But don't dare to write code that might possibly be used in a way that businesses don't like. Such an act equals actually using that code in a way bussinesses don't like. Perfectly logical: If I make a knive that is the same as if I cut open somebody with a knive. That the knive was made to slice bread is irrelevant. Owning a knive equals killing, everybody knows that!
Quiet day. Not much happening. Gonna play outside for a while next. Nice day for it!
mibus: If you want a pop-up to ask for a parameter for a
query just put [You! User! Enter foo:] in the criteria row on the QBE-screen for that column.
To be able to get a value from a control on a form, that form has to be opened (does not have to be visible). So
another thing you could do is open the form in dialog mode, have the user enter a value and hide the form, all
before you run the query. Then the query can get the value from the now hidden form.
New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
