fzort: At compile time, short-circuiting conditional operators ("?:", "&&", "||") don't. (More precisely: template expansions in their arguments occur before evaluating the expression.) Relying on such short-circuiting is a good way to make an O(log N) algorithm into an O(2^N) algorithm. If that's not what you want, you must use template matching, e.g. if_true<expr>, instead.
