Finally, a use for IXS (102 entries): see http://mobilix.org/mobilix_asterix.html

Record of the week: Crazy Lobster - Ernest St. Laurent

Finally got a decent bug tracker for LyX sorted out, to replace the awful sourceforge system. Now I don't get advertised at just to open a bug (so big thanks to nzkoz for hosting the bugzilla !).

Noticed a couple of things I miss in bugzilla, and went to Cc: myself on the bugs. Luckily there are patches for most of them already, bar the prefs option to show the same bug again after changing it, which I would love to see.

Record of the week: Avalanches - A Different Feeling (Ernest St. Laurent mix)

One of those nightmare bugs that just don't make any sense, and the available tools just fall far short :((

Record of the week: The Smiths - Louder Than Bombs; sometimes it's just right to go old skool.

LyX bug fixing a plenty. Perhaps a bit hit and miss but I think most of them are proper fixes. 1.2.0pre1 looking a lot closer ....

Record of the week : Crazy Penis - Started Something

Module load/unload problems turning up with oprofile. Very worrying, especially as the kernel's module loading interface code is so arcane. Hopefully we'll crack it soon.

happy bunny == me

They've re-issued Jackson Sister's "I believe in miracles" - without doubt the best disco record ever. I'm now a proud owner.

Released oprofile 0.0.7. SMP overhead is much better now that the module data structures are saner.

Depending on the status of the RTC and P4 code (if there is any of the latter), I think we can start heading towards a stable 1.0 release. The fancy post-profiling GUI can wait.

More hacking on LyX - cleanups, and implementing a couple of missing things. Not really any further on the mountain of serious bugs before releasing 1.2.0 though.

A short plea to library hackers: PLEASE include in the documentation which version a function was introduced !

Downloading oodles of versions and doing a binary search on them to find this information out is no fun at all.

Say, what's this diary thing ?

Released oprofile 0.0.6, covering up my previous goof.

Got an email to the list today too from an ex VA-er now at nvidia, who is interested in providing pentium 4 support.

Getting patches from other people, and having them join your project, is really an immensely cool thing. It's probably my favourite part of the "open source experience" with the possible exception of high-quality software...

My other projects have been horribly neglected recently, I should do something about that.

This is just a suggestion to you all that you certify JMarc - he's one of the main developers of the great program LyX, and he's currently only Observer !

In my usual trivial news update, IXS has 65 entries now. Who would have thought UNIX was so popular :P

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
