Uploaded my old (as in a few months) SoGtk Coin3d widget port for GTK+2 to witme.sf.net download section. Will really like to merge this into the main Coin3d stuff so that Qt/GTK2 are sitting at the same level of support right out of the box, plus then Fedora guys can take it and Coin and make it available as default... grr, must have OpenGL support in more distros!

Yay, enabled donations for libferris website / my personal sf.net account. Be rather interesting to see if anything actually happens there. Like flying a kite in the eye of a cyclone.

/me pats shiney new kernel.

Took the low latency premempt kernel from

http://www-ccrma.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/

Which itself contains many other nice patchies...

patched out the 2.4.22 user->root attack, added in device-mapper, evms-2.2.0 and XFS and created the killer kernel from hell.

Nice to have a kernel with capabilities support now too. Might get around to hacking up a sidepanel for 'ego' to edit capability assignments. The panel will itself require capabilities to assign and remove capabilties to other stuff of course :)

Now if only I can get rivatv and this crusty old 5900 to shake hands.

This thing is really cool. 3d Lattice exploration. Very much along the lines of my plans for search/nav interface for libferris.

Hmm, interesting stuff. There seems to be alot of "could use" and "this would happen" projections. Its a shame that the many things that already exist in libferris are chalked up as future goals in so many places. Be interesting to see how they handle the dependancies that come along with the power of metadata plugins.

Been playing around with GnuPG and libferris of late. Its been hovering on the TODO list for a while but soon I should be able to check sigs with EA and be able to manage and create keys through something like gpg://keys/

Its a joy isn't it.

Audio patching, Redhat, and kernels.

Very sad news that I heard while in sydney about Elliot Smith's death. I very much enjoy his music. Selfish of me for my sadness to be driven primarily by my likes of his music though.

Got my new dbXML shirt from sleeycat in the mail today. Excellent stuff, the joy of being a winner in their comp.

Was in Sydney overthe weekend and went along to the SLUG. (slug.org.au). Very nice user group, within walking distance from central station, I'd recommend it to any linux geeks visiting sydney.

Got to meet up with many coders of applications, do a lot of interesting waffling after the UG meeting during the dinner meeting. The Linux Audio SLUG meeting the following day was also very interesting, though I'd recommend you definately drag along a PC and maybe guitar for the occasion. I had to drop out early to take care of some other stuff in sydney.

Hmm, for my next magic trick I'll pull funding for a trip to LCA04 out of my hat. Or a small furry animal, whichever is first.
