My Thinkpad's hard disk has completely died. Trying to read any sector at all results in an IO error. It can't even see the boot sector. Most of my data was either backed up in Canberra, or in a CVS repository, but it's still a hassle to reinstall and recover the work in progress. Minor suckage, but worse things happen.

Make a backup now!

My work project seems to be coming into tentative contact with reality. This is good, and I hope it continues. Our Christmas party is tonight at the Metreon.
