Notes:

Proprietary software programmer and part time unix admin/fixit guy. Programs in C mostly, some perl and sh as well. Some knowledge of HTML and CGI, although I've never used it commercially. Debian Linux user at home. I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney. Graduated in 1999 with first class honours. I use both emacs and vi, and can be found in editor flame wars supporting and defending both sides. I'm a regular (but not always frequent) contributer to debian-user and SLUG help mailing lists -- putting linux newbies onto the right path. I'm not yet a free software contributor, but I am a supporter. Invading advogato for the ability to add my 2 cents.

Windows users can be free software users too

Just because you're forced to use Windows at work, doesn't mean you have to stop using free software as well. We should all at least download a Win32 binary of Mozilla and use it instead of IE. Let's start making a dent in those server logs.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
