Notes:
Debian uber alles. I also play with FreeBSD (it rocks), and think the two projects should share more ideas / code :) I maintain Debian packages for libpam-pgsql, upx (UCL & NRV) versions, and libucl...More to come soon I'm sure. I'm also planning on helping out with the Debian 2.3 (3.0?) release installer...Got some funky ideas to borrow from FreeBSD's libh.

In the UK now, having a bit of a vacation before I head back to Cape Town.

Will be glad to get back home :)

Wow. Haven't had time to look around here in weeks. Settling into the new job, this is a really cool company. In roughly 2 weeks, I'm heading off to Australia, then Israel, then UK, then Ireland, for a trek of deploying Sun boxes.

Rather looking forward to it, will be the first time I'm out of the country :)

Packing sucks :). I'm moving to Cape Town, for various reasons, one of them being the fact that I've changed employers.

I'm going to be having a cool view of the sea for a week or two while my more permanent residence gets arranged.

Final fix of connectivity until I lose it for a few days :)

Got moved into a different company department, doing mostly eBusiness (PHP) related development for now.

Notes to self:

  • Upgrading to FreeBSD 5.0-CURRENT on a production box is not a good idea :)
  • Neither is not having regular partition table backups

Working on finishing off upx packages for uploading to Debian

Played around with the idea of a package format using XML header metadata and cpio'd/tar'd package files. Nothing new, been discussed before, but no implementations.

I wish we had a LSB that worked. :)

Also watched some scenes from The Matrix again. I'll be surprised if they top it in the sequel.
