Nothing new. I've been lurking on a lot of mailing lists, sleeping at lectures and doing nothing useful.

RossBurton: Did you save it in RGB mode? Try converting to indexed. I think that does the trick for MSIE.

EmptyOne: Yes, you have to be certified at Apprentice level or higher to post comments to articles. If you write interesting diary entries and contribute to free software projects, you will get certified. Actually, just hanging around might be enough. Just look at me. :)

Well, it's been sort of slow on the tech front lately.
Actually, I don't think I have done anything useful or
creative in a long time. I feel extremely unmotivated.

Things I've done since last time (Nov 2001):

Started learning Common Lisp as part of a university
course. Sort of fun.

Become a member of the root group at Lysator. Haven't
done much there yet, though.

Started reading a couple more mailing lists, including
python-dev. Haven't made my first post there yet, waiting
for divine inpiration or something.

Registered a new domain, juckapan.org, and then failed
miserably to do anything with it.

Going to NUCCC in the
weekend. Maybe that will put me in a hacking mood.

I've been working quite a bit on my <a

stuff might still show up here, though.

Good day today. Bought some groceries, won't starve to
death for at least another week. Watched some excellent
tennis on TV, the Stockholm Open final.

I'm thinking about getting a digital camera, it would be fun
to take pictures of stuff. Perhaps an Olympus C-2100UZ? It
seems like good value for the money (6000 SEK, might be
about $500). Of course, I'd rather have an Olympus E-10 or
a Canon EOS D30 or something like that, but I'm on a limited
budget. It's hard being a poor student, you can't buy all
the luxury items you want.

Comments on digital cameras in
general or the C-2100 in particular would be appreciated. Send me a mail or write
something in your diary.

Hmmm... Breakage somewhere in my X packages (or
configuration). Everything works with startx but with xdm
something (I'm not sure what) segfaults. Bah.

Update: Apparently not a segfault. The "Caught signal
11" message I read in some log must've come from somewhere
else. It was a silly typo bug in the 4.1.0-7 debs.

Running ext3. Feels good so far.

Participated in the swedish ACM Programming Contest on the
weekend. My team finished in 23d place, with one measly
correct solution. Not so good, but it was the first time we
participated. Coderunners
won again, of course.
