Older blog entries for kalle (starting at number 8)

k = [(i, j) for i in range(10) for j in range(10)[::-1]]

You probably want k = [(i, j) for i in range(10) for j in range(9, -1, -1)] instead. The slice creates a new list, quite unnecessary in this case.

dyork: I've been using a combination of PyBlosxom and AsciiDoc to get a system that's easy to update and edit, without using difficult markup. This requires a bit of work with the configuration and design, including messing with HTML and CSS, but is really easy to use afterwards.

So I've registered for Debconf 3, including Debcamp from the 14th. As the plans to travel together with a friend from Linköping fell through, I'll be all alone. And, I'm not even a Debian developer. Hope I'll manage to overcome my insecurity in social situations and find things to do, otherwise I'm in for a sucky week.

Bought a CD today, Jurassic 5 - Strength in Numbers. Great hiphop, recommended.

I've had some problems with my wrists recently, a few days with almost no computering helped. Still, I don't feel comfortable with having this kind of problems at my age (22).

Thinking about RPGs (not the computer kind). Might be fun to take up again, it's been a long time since I played seriously.

New term, new courses. More hardware-related, which is actually quite nice.

Now I've upgraded the Debian installation on my laptop to unstable. Fairly nice, but some broken packages. Also, the new version of Sawfish isn't as good at placing windows as the old one. I love the anti-aliased fonts, though.

By the way, Advogato should allow <span> tags in diary entries.

So I've bought a new camera, an Olympus C-220Z. When I google around to check the USB support, I discover that it doesn't work with Linux. Argh!

But as I read on, I also discover that the bug has been identified and that there is a patch available. Hooray!

Got out of bed at 18:15. Feeling strangely drained. No energy for hacking, playing go or studying. It's like I'm sitting inside a glass cage, watching my life fall to pieces. What can I do to break free? Don't know. I look at my reflection in the window. Better go watch TV or something.

Time passes.

Damn! I gathered some energy and was just about to start taking care of the paperwork that has been gathering on my desk for more than a week. But then, the accounting machine is down. I think I'll have to go to the server room to bring it up again. Not tonight, though. I'll do something else instead.

This weekend is cleaning-and-fixing-up-the-server-room weekend with the computer society. Too bad I couldn't participate today, since I woke up at about 15:10 and most of the work was already done.

I've been looking at writing a Lisp, but I think I'll put that project on the shelf until I get some more time and energy. Making something good would be too hard, and there's not much point in making something I wouldn't want to use. Not when there are so many other things I should focus on instead. Like my studies, for example. I'm flunking exams left and right. Not good.

So, I finally got too annoyed with my old account name (krftkndl). Basically, it's got very little to do with who I am now and is not easy to remember. Since my preferred account name was still available, I decided that now was the time to switch.

If you have certified my old account and still feel that I'm worthy, please certify this account and withdraw the old certification.
