Notes: I started contributing to free software projects in the late eighties by producing TeX Spanish hyphenation patterns, Babel language files and a dictionary for ispell (I later wrote patches to ispell to permit chaining suffixes, I should someday clean them for release or something).
I have written since 1992 two or three small patches to the Linux kernel. I wrote the first, very crude, version of support for transparent proxies in the kernel, but I dropped it when the guys at xos.nl implemented the version that made it to 2.0.x, though I contributed a five line patch to redirect to same port (-r 0 in ipfwadm). Everything was of course lost in 2.2.x. Never did anything of impact. I inflicted libtool on INN. If you were looking for the one to blame, look no further. Currently a developer of OpenLDAP.
