Well, that was fun. I spent the past couple of day making a hex-map viewer using PHP3, GD, and PostgreSQL so that I could view the hex-information for a PBEM strat game I'm playing. It works pretty well all things considered. Now to get it to display other useful information like hex resources and such.

Whee. :)

Well it's Friday. Most of today was spent deciphering how threads on Windows32 work (being a primarily unix geek, I haven't had call to look at them in depth before now). My work however relies on providing services and such for Windows NT. (Yes, even the Open Source thing I mentioned yesterday would be for NT)

Well, I'm new here, and mostly just exploring. We'll see if I can summon the creativity to post diary entries with any regular basis.

In a very cool move, my work is strongly considering making one of their projects Open Source and want me as the local Open Source advocate to spearhead it. We'll have to see how this goes, but it could prove very fun and interesting. It's cool to work at a place that values/understands my point of view on things like this :)
