Since our hero last left you...

Tara came to visit last weekend (for 5 days actually). Saw Traffic (good movie), as well. Strangely my roow is now clean as well.

Assorted chess playing in Harvard Square. I seem to be getting into chess again.

Released gnome-chess 0.3.0. Should have another minor release out soon.

Some soup hacking, got evolution snapshots building again.

Played with using soup to contact sites listed at <a href="http://www.xmethods.com/". Was fairly successful.

Other new movies watched include Shrek (very entertaining) and This is Spinal Tap (excellent parody).

Freshly returned from Toronto. Eating, drinking and conversation. An excellent trip all round. The gf was not happy to see me go.

Got a bit more gnome-chess hacking done on the plane and started reading 1984 which I have not yet read. The idea of NewSpeak in order to remove "impure" thought is an interesting one.

Ground out the week to its unspectacular conclusion. Just a bunch of general hacking. Doing a lot on gnome-chess because I really want to get a new release out soon.

Visited an MIT party on friday and went to bed 3 hours before I got up to got with taylor to poker at foxwoods. Didn't do so well in the tournament but really made up for it in the 5/10 game afterward.

Going back to Canada to visit gf, parents and friends this weekend. I sense alcohol.

So a lot has happened. Had a part on March 31 for mtgordon's birthday.

Then I left for Linux Expo in Madrid, the talk is online here. Hopefully it translated ok from spanish to english. Excellent group of free software people in spain - i think i barely had a meal under 2 hours the whole time.

From there to Copenhagen for GUADEC. Where I gave another talk with campd. Excellent get together. Went to Christiana free town, a strange hippy enclave in Copenhagen that is fairly autonomous.

Back to the grind.

Ok, so today was the big day at the New England Poker Classic. 493 entries, about twice as many as I thought there would be. Played tough but missed some cards and got stuck badly in a hand with KQs which basically ended my day in between 200th and 220th. So-so at best.

Working on the purify box this week at work so we can pound away at evo. Chasing some pilot syncing bugs.

Leaving for madrid on monday. Then onward to the great guadec.

Gotta figure what to do for Easter.
