Well, this is my first entry. Recently I have been working with the Koha project (www.koha.org) which is an open source circulation system for libraries (as in books, not as in software). The library system that I work for (Nelsonville Public; www.athenscounty.lib.oh.us) has sponsored the development of MARC compatibility (MARC is a markup language for circulation records and pretty much the standard in the library world [although there are several different versions {flavors?} of MARC]). Koha is at version 1.9 which has full MARC support but still has some bugs to work out. Nelsonville will begin using the new system with version 2.0. Although I am listed as a developer, my strength is not in the programming aspect of development (I would like to find the time to learn a bit more Perl, but things are too busy right now).
